Let It Go

Are you still clinging to the dream or idea that you had for your life, one that has existed for many, many years?

“Why,” you may ask, “is that so wrong?”

Well, it’s not really wrong… but…  are you the same person now, as the person who first ignited that dream?

The experiences we have, the people we meet, the conversations we have, the articles and books we read, all have an impact on us, and some in very subtle ways.

All of these events and more, have assisted us to develop into the people we are today. So it makes sense that your dreams may have changed.

Persisting with trying to bring the old ideas to fruition is frustrating when those ideas do not fit the person you now are.

So… Let it go! Release the old thoughts and allow the new dreams to find you.

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a nurse. I dreamt of nothing else. Achieving that goal was amazing, it felt so good, but I swore I’d never study again, I was eager to get on with my career. Eight years later, I was studying midwifery, and again, I thought, ‘this is it, I’m done’. Little did I know that life had other plans for me!

Over the years, working as a midwife and in women’s health, I studied modalities that were not mainstream, but which I could use to enhance my work; reiki, aromatherapy and touch for health. Unbeknown to me at the time, these therapies were the tools I was accumulating to enhance my current role. Little by little, work didn’t feel right, and finally, it was a meeting with a Balinese medicine man that triggered the alteration to my career path.

So, here I now am; nurse, midwife, aromatherapist, reiki master, touch for health practitioner, kinesiologist, and now, a student of the School of Modern Mystics.

Letting go of the rigid dream, has allowed the flexibility of the new to arrive.

Looking back on how my dreams have changed, just opens me up to the possibility of more positive experiences and changes.

To you I say, “let go of the ‘should’ dreams, allow the arrival of ‘could’ dreams, and embrace the life that is trying to work its way into your consciousness. 🙏🏻
