Centre Your Heart

There are days when I feel so scattered and over-whelmed.

Hours of turmoil as thoughts and ‘what ifs’ swirl through my head in a never ending circuit.

Minutes of heart pounding, pulse racing shakiness.

Moments of emotion and anxiety, eyes brimming with tears, lips trembling and throat constricting on the verge of sobs.

And then…..

I step into stillness.

My stillness is found outside, in nature.

I weed or dig, I wander in the garden and cut plants back, I walk by the river, I lay on the grass.

These are the things that centre my heart, that permit anxiety to dissipate, and a stillness settle.

What is your recipe for a centred heart?
